Aluminium Sheets

All our sheet sizes can be painted to your requirements and are also available pre-painted from stock. Typical Combinations: Grey one; Grey two; White one; Black one; Black two; Grey/White or Grey/Black.

Our Aluminium sheets are available in either a 1050 alloy or a green alloy 9017.

The advantages in using these grades is that they have a high corrosion resistance; high thermal and electrical conductivity; easy to form and easy to weld.

It is well suited to applications where surface characteristics are important, making it an ideal choice for signage.

Cgate

The aluminium skins are alloy 3003 which provides excellent corrosion resistance for outdoor application. The panels have passed EN12899 standard tests as well as the additional ageing tests required for motorway signs and gantries.

Cbond Traffic signs have been installed on motorways since 2006 and have both CE and UL certificates. Cgate is a major producer of Aluminium Composite Panels for traffic signs worldwide”

It has been tested by Henrob to use with their riveting system and can be processed using a variety of techniques, including shearing, sawing, punching and folding.

GRP

GRP is comprised of glass fibres, polyester resins, inert fillers, UV stabilisers, promoters and flame retardants. GRP had previously only been known to the sign industry as a temporary solution for road traffic signage however a new version, MP GRP, has been developed as a suitable replacement for Aluminium and steel permanent signs. The product is supplied with a 12 year warranty and in testing conducted to date MP GRP substrate has proven to be compatible with 3M reflective sheetings, as well as being warranted by 3M for adhesion. We are happy to supply both GRP or MP GRP dependent on your requirement for permanent or temporary material.

One of the main advantages of GRP is that it has a certain price stability in comparison to aluminium. There is less price fluctuation of GRP’s components meaning that as the price of Aluminium continually increases, GRP offers you the opportunity to save more and more money. Both GRP products are made to Department for Transport regulations and comply with British Standard BS8442 for temporary signs and BS EN 12899-1:2001 for permanent signs.

Composites

Composite sheet is a sandwich type composite panel with a total thickness of 2mm, 3mm or 4mm and consists of two Aluminium sheets with an LDPE core. It is coated with a high resistance polyester and protected with a transparent film with one side of the product having a matt finish, the other a gloss finish. The product is available in a variety of colours, including standard road traffic grey for temporary use (see Cbond Traffic & Dibond Traffic® for permanent composite).

Composite is supplied to the specification of Alloy: AI 3105H44 (Cgate Alloy) and meets class 0 index for BS476 Part 6 and class 1 for BS476 Part 7. Therefore it meets class 0 according to the National Building Regulations for fire resistance.

Heavy duty equipment is not required to process Composite. Excellent results are achieved by using light tools. Composite can be processed in many different ways, including cutting, punching, drilling and routing.
